I got a friend (he lives in Europe I live in the USA. Just to be clear) to get an RX-8. He got a promotion and had some extra funds to buy a car, he was having trouble deciding and I said RX-8, he liked the idea and bought the one above. Is that a good thing Oppo?

Please tell me he understands it's a rotary and the apex seals will fail every 80k miles or so.
Cause if not he's gonna have a bad time.

Yes, it's not his primary car, his dd is a DS3.

Okay good, cause I knew a kid who didn't understand and had his mint RX-8 turn into a nice sculpture.

Neatherlands. I should mention that it isn't driven too much. His primary car is a DS3.

This one conveys the problems nicely.

When I was getting rid of my NB Miata for something more practical, I came very close to buying an RX-8. It's an almost perfect car to drive. Great handling balance, great shifter, great steering, above average brakes.
I ended up going with a Mazdaspeed 6 instead because I wanted awd for winter here in Wisconsin. I had driven my NB for 4 winters with Blizzaks and while it did ok, I felt like I wanted awd for more traction, and the MS6 also is a lot quicker than the RX-8 in a straight line. Not a ton more power but a way more usable power band.
